Who We Are

What is AOAI Ethiopia?

AOAI Ethiopia is the national initiative behind Ethiopia's participation in the African Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (AOAI) — Africa's continental AI competition for talented young people. We discover, train, and support Ethiopian students from their first encounter with AI to competing on regional and international stages.

Our vision is a sustainable Ethiopian AI Olympiad ecosystem: identifying exceptional students early, training them systematically, and giving them repeated opportunities to compete — nationally, across Africa, and internationally.

Why It Matters

Why the AI Olympiad?

What students gain — and what Ethiopia gains — from taking part.

Learn real AI skills

Programming, mathematics, machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing and multimodal AI — the skills shaping the future.

Compete with the best

Experience competing with some of Africa's and the world's strongest young technology talent — and grow with every challenge.

Represent Ethiopia

Carry the national flag on continental and global AI stages — and bring the knowledge back to your community.

Build an ecosystem, not a contest

Participation is the beginning of the journey, not the end goal — a long-term national talent-development program.
